Though my son-in-law and his generation may not completely agree with my view I recognize his generation and his love of light sound and dance not just as modern disco lovers but as new age hippies. There is an absolute air of Dead Head idealism about them. No political message, no hatred for the establishment, no protest of government just get up and dance to a visual light show of Happy. As a former ‘flower child’ who grew up in the late 60’s and 70’s I was fortunate enough to be witness to and enjoy the enlightenment of the Age of Aquarius to the freedom of the Grateful Dead and John Lennon and the psychedelic era of the Beatles and Jefferson Airplane. Followed by the birth of Disco and the Disco Balls glittering to the music of the Bee Gees, The Commodore’s and Donna Summer. Now I watch my daughters and their generation bring all the visual brilliance and dancing till the sun comes up into the 21st Century and it makes me smile while my feet do a little shuffle.
